ABOUT 

Amanda Clark is a shareholder with the firm and practices both labor and employment law. The bulk of her work is advocating for both public and private sector unions, and individual employment plaintiffs. Amanda joined the firm in 2011 as a law clerk and became an associate in 2013.  In 2020, she became a shareholder. Throughout her time with the firm, she has gained significant experience defending interrogations under the Illinois Fireman’s Disciplinary Act, as well as in interest arbitrations for firefighters.

Her interest arbitration work on behalf of firefighter units of all sizes routinely addresses wage issues, insurance, man hours and comparability. Amanda has also done extensive interest arbitration work for statewide protective services bargaining units, as well as grievance arbitrations for both public and private sector workers. She is practiced in ensuring enforcement of arbitration awards, fighting wrongful terminations and breach of employment contracts that protect whistleblowers, and settling wage and hour disputes. Her background includes extensive experience defending Family Medical Leave Act and Title VII claims.

Amanda is a member of the American Bar Association, Section of Labor and Employment Law and the State and Local Government Bargaining and Employment Law Committee. She co-authors yearly reports for the State and Local Government Bargaining and Employment Law Committee analyzing nationwide grievance arbitration developments in the public sector as well as technology use for attorneys. She co-authored, “The Future of Public Sector Bargaining: One Decision to Undo Them All," in 2014 for the Illinois Public Employee Relations Report.

Amanda received a Bachelor of Science in Politics and Government & Scandinavian Studies, Summa Cum Laude, from North Park University. She received her Juris Doctor from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law graduating with a Certificate in Labor and Employment Law from The Institute for Law and the Workplace. While at Chicago-Kent, Amanda was student editor of the Employee Rights and Employment Policy Journal and the Illinois Public Employee Relations Report.
