ABOUT 

Lee Elberts was with the firm from 1977 until his death in 2021.  His practice centered exclusively on the representation of trustees sitting on pension and health & welfare benefit trust funds.  In that capacity, Lee gained extensive experience in the following areas: handling multiemployer plan withdrawal liability matters, drafting procedures for collecting employer contributions, drafting Summary Plan Descriptions, advising trust funds on benefits eligibility and related issues, advising trust funds on Department of Labor investigations and Internal Revenue Service examinations, providing legal advice at trustee meetings, counseling fund administrators and staff, drafting and analyzing Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs), advising relevant parties of their fiduciary duties, and advising clients of recent pertinent legislation.  Lee also defended clients in lawsuits pursued by plan participants.  Lee's service and contributions to the firm over the span of more than four decades were significant.  He died in May, 2021, and will be greatly missed.
